Trail Details

Welcome to the Hidden Beach Trail at Titlow Park, a hidden gem that promises a delightful adventure for families of all ages. This easy trail is perfect for a day of outdoor exploration, and it’s sure to become a favorite for your whole family. With stunning views, lush nature, and a hidden beach waiting to be discovered, this trail offers a little slice of paradise right in the heart of Tacoma, Washington.

I found doing this hike in fall/winter, allowed our family to recon the Titlow splash pad/grounds.  I highly recommend bringing a towel for a post playground trip.  The trails are flat and wide and can accommodate stroller (yes, there are some roots to be navigated over).

My son loves hitting up the beach, which can be curtailed to just the southwestern overlook.

There are some interpretive signs along the park portion of the trail that discuss the history of the buildings/park and restoration efforts.  Note:  Trains run often, which can be noisy (tracks are fenced off minus the southern trail crossing).

Hidden Beach Trail at Titlow Park is the perfect family adventure, where you can explore the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, learn about the environment, and enjoy quality time together. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely walk or a fun day at the beach, this trail has something for everyone. So pack grab your family, and get ready to make lasting memories.

Pro Tips

  • The western side of the trail expands out.  Keep walking south and you’ll be guided back on to the main trail.
  • Before you head out, check out WTA’s trail reports.
