We bought our kids backpacks when they were 2 years old. We weren’t expecting much, just something adorable they could put their rocks in. Our kids didn’t take long to imitate us, wanting to carry useful items on our hikes. My son, who is 4 years old, carried his bag, and at the end of the hike, I decided to see what he packed. I posted the results to Instagram (see below) and was surprised at the number of reactions we received.
In response to this video, I’ve uploaded a packing list for Quest Trail kids! We laminated ours and allow the kids to bring a fun item along on the hike. Note: As parents, we always carry the 10 essentials on our hike.
