Trail Details

This easy, well-marked, trail is tucked away, near Capitol State Forest. No passes are required to park in the designated area. There is one porta potty at the trailhead, which is maintained weekly (Tuesdays).

The trail is wide but does have some rough spots with rocks and roots. There are also some muddy spots. If you want to cut the hike to 1.3 miles, take the Lake Loop path instead. You can also add to the trail to your adventure by including the Piedra Trail, adding 1.2 miles (out and back).

The trail has a few water crossings, all have options to stay dry. Just watch your kids, as the water may be tempting for exploration.

Pro Tips

  • Parking is limited, so we recommend you arrive earlier on a sunny day.
